MAKE YOUR SHORTLIST MORE USEFUL
Choose a layer for the way you will wear it
A hoodie worn under a jacket has a different job from one worn as the main outer layer. Start with that distinction before comparing logos or colours.
Allow for the layers underneath and above
Compare chest, shoulder, sleeve and body measurements with a sweatshirt you already wear in the same way. Extra width does not necessarily mean a longer body. If you plan to add a jacket, consider space around the upper arm and hood as well as the chest. A cropped outer layer may leave more sweatshirt hem visible than the product photograph suggests.
Ask to see the inside
An exterior image does not identify the inner surface. Ask for a clear interior view and a fabric description rather than assuming every sweatshirt has a brushed lining. If weight is quoted, check the units and what is being measured. Weight, composition and inner finish describe different things; none alone is a complete warmth or quality rating.
Compare the details you use every day
A zip opening, pullover neck, pocket layout and gathered hem change how the garment works. Think about whether you regularly take the layer off indoors, use the pockets or wear a bag over it. For buyer feedback, look for the size worn, layers underneath and any washing context. A general comment that it fits well is hard to apply without those details.
Before you keep it on your list
- Is the price for the top alone or a matching set?
- Does the size information belong to the selected cut and version?
- Can you confirm the inside fabric, fastening and care instructions?
